3 TBSP Dried Yeast
5 CUPS Warm Water
1 CUP Oil
1 ½ CUPS Sugar
2 TBSP Salt
16 CUPS Strong White Flour
Mix first 4 ingredients.
Add salt and 10 cups flour and mix
Add last 6 cups flour
If the dough is sticky, you may add a bit more flour
To prevent the dough from sticking, drizzle the dough with oil
Allow to rise for an hour.
Punch down and allow to rise another hour.
Optional: For an extra glow, brush challah with beaten egg. You can use a topping of your choice: sesame seeds, poppy seeds or any mix or leave it plain!
