Chocolate Chip Squares

2 sticks margarine (8oz) or 1 cup oil
1 cup caster sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs – room temperature
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 – 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips⁣ or chocolate lentils


  1. Preheat oven to 180 C
  2. In an electric mixer beat the margarine and the sugars until creamy, about 2 minutes. Add the eggs.
  3. Gradually beat in the flour and baking powder. Then stir in the chocolate.
  4. Press batter into a cookie sheet and level it out.
  5. Bake on 180 C for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown. While cookie sheet is still warm cut into squares or sticks!
